John
Sales Support

During a career in teaching John was involved with the integration of computers into the curriculum and finished his teaching as IT Manager/coordinator of a medium sized high school overseeing the development of a 200 workstation secure internet enabled network. It was in this final phase that John saw the need for a PaperCut style program ( the piles of waste around the printers were just too annoying!). Research of possible solutions revealed programs that were too labor intensive or too expensive - a local solution was needed and Chris was on hand and had the skills to deliver a tailored product.
John now works part time for PaperCut in Sales and occasional support, as well as running his own computer support consultancy. He brings to the business many years of experience in education and an in depth knowledge of school curriculum, operations and administration.

Alec
Technical Project Manager
Alec is a 30 year veteran of the IT industry. He started programming ICL mainframes using a 10cps teletype via a 300BAUD acoustic coupler whilst still at school and his first proper job was programming embedded financial terminals in London ("and kids today don't know the're born!"). Since then he has worked in Europe, Middle East, US, Asia and Australia managing, consulting and delivering various types of technical software products and services. At PaperCut Alec's skills are being used across a number of areas, including project management, technical pre-sales and anything else that comes along.
Alec was an early adopter of Linux in the 90's and is trying to "encourage" everyone at PaperCut to adopt the penguin as their preferred platform. He founded the Greater London Linux User Group and organised the UK's 1st Linux conference. As well as computers he loves Star Trek (Kirk rather than Pickard) and sf generally, movies and Asian cuisine of most types. He is a terrible coffee and beer snob.
Ian

His strengths combine a strong technical background supported by stints in systems administration and IT consulting with an proven approach to more business-orientated responsibilities such as project management, budgeting and communications.
Ian loves travel, food, technology and fitness. His desktop is Windows, his phone Android and his tablet Apple, and is comfortable with being accused of hedging his bets. His most recent holiday was to Hawaii, and most recent culinary equipment purchase was a Weber grill. In addition, he owns all three current-generation consoles.
We installed PaperCut to keep track of the amount of printing going on across the school. Easy to set up and use, PaperCut has reduced the amount of waste printing significantly. Always reliable, always there.
